Dear Parent / Carer,
Year 9 Parent and Student Guided Choices Evening: Thursday 20th June 2019
It is with real pleasure that we are launching the guided choices process for our Year 9 students.
With the transfer to Leading Edge Academies Partnership, we are excited to be able to offer a much broader curriculum than possible under the previous trust. We are now able to guarantee a commitment to strengthen our vocational ad creative offer within the choice of subjects for study in Years 10 and 11.
Therefore, you are warmly invited to attend the Guided Choices Evening, which will take place on Thursday 20th June between 18:00 and 19:30
This evening is not a consultation evening about students’ individual progress but rather an opportunity for you and your child to be guided through the options process so that you are able to make informed decisions. You will also have an opportunity to talk with members of staff about the courses they are offering. We do hope you will take advantage of this in order to be as well-informed as possible, particularly about the new courses on offer. It is essential for students to know what a qualification entails in order to decide if a specific subject is appropriate for them and their future career aspirations.
There will be a presentation at 18:00 in the Hall. It is important for you to attend this as it will explain the options process in detail.
The Guided Choices booklet will be available to view online on our new school website: www.fracademy.org from Thursday 13th June. Should you require a paper copy then please contact the school office. The booklet will contain information about all the courses on offer whilst the evening will allow you to ask any further questions you may still have.
Parking as always will be available, but please be careful to avoid obstructing the exits or the main roadway.
