They have spent the past few months studying hard – but they were ready for their final evening as part of Fowey River Academy.

Parents, carers, friends and staff members stood watching them arrive asking – where did those five years go? – From nervous year 7’s to stunning young men and ladies leaving Year 11.

It truly was an end of an era, but gave us all a chance to say our goodbyes to a fantastic group of students.

Our Year 11 Prom took place on June 27th , at Carlyon Bay Golf Club.  We would like to thank all the staff who helped make the evening run so smoothly.

It was a really special evening for everyone and was lovely to see the students in all their finery, and fantastic to see all the parents, carers and friends who came to support them.

We were so proud of them and they all looked stunning on arrival – arriving in fancy cars, tractors, lorries and bicycles.  The weather was perfect to show off those lovely dresses and suits, and gave everyone the opportunity to get some special photographs on the red carpet.

Students and staff then tucked into a two course meal and enjoyed a mocktail, before dancing the night away.

The evening was filled with laughter and some memorable dance moves and that was just the staff.  Ethan, Rory and Ollie deserve a mention for non – stop dancing – well done boys.

It is always an evening tinged with sadness when we have to say goodbye to these amazing individuals but we know they are ready for the next chapter and we want to wish every one of them the very best of luck for the future; especially for their results in August, when we get another opportunity to celebrate with them.
