On Wednesday 5th May our recently selected girls football activators took part in the Game of Our Own Inspire Launch. The girls were lucky enough to speak with six famous female sporting role models; including England legend Rachel Yankey, England captain Faye White, and world inline skating champion Jenna Downing.
The FA and Barclays, in partnership with Youth Sport Trust have the ambition to ensure every girl has equal access to football in school by 2024.
The Game of Our Own Leadership programme provides training to girls in Key Stage 3 to design, create and deliver football opportunities for their peers.
The virtual inspire launch left the girls feeling incredibly empowered and excited to begin the next stage of the programme.
