Dear Parent/Carer,

We hope you have had a lovely Christmas and New Year.

We are looking forward to seeing all students back this coming Tuesday.

Here are a few notices that you need to be aware of on your return:

Testing

The Government is recommending ALL students take an LFT test before returning to school, either on Monday or first thing on Tuesday.  If you have symptoms or have a positive LFT result, you must not come to school and must get a PCR test and follow Government guidance.

ALL positive LFT and/or PCR test results must be sent to the school ASAP to: covidalerts@fracademy.org

On your return next week, ALL students will be tested at school, once.  This will take place in year groups across the first week.

Masks

The Government is now recommending that ALL students should wear masks in communal areas inside the school and in classrooms.  Students will be reminded of this when they arrive at school but please help us by making sure your son/daughter has a face mask for school and that you have discussed the importance of wearing it.  This will avoid the spread of the new variant and avoid teachers and students catching it, which has an impact on keeping the school open to all year groups.  Only students with valid exemptions may opt-out of wearing a mask.  Students must register their exemption by going to see the CGS teams in student services.

The Fowey Way

Many of you will have seen the social media we have been doing about our approach this term to learning.  We will be focusing on rewarding students for positive behaviour and ensuring students who persistently disrupt lessons are appropriately managed.  This link takes you to a video presentation about The Fowey Way.  We hope you will support our approach to ensure everyone has a chance to learn and progress. #TheFoweyWay

As always, thank you for your support.
